After World War II, two old school chums, Leslie Smith and Rodney Smith, formed Lesney Products. They were soon joined by another ex-soldier, John "Jack" William Odell. And this trio created the legend that would soon be known as Matchbox.
Since those early days, Matchbox has crossed the ocean to the United States where it has grown and evolved. Throughout its illustrious history, Matchbox has been the name that both children and adults have turned to when they wanted to collect die-cast models.
